Announcing the Launch of the Bi+ Archive Atlas

Today, we launched a brand new initiative: the Bisexual+ Archive Atas – a curated guide to archival materials that document the lives, activism, culture, and contributions of bisexual+ communities across time and place.

This resource brings together over 60 entries from digital and physical archives, zines, newsletters, oral histories, health campaigns, and activist collections. It spans from the 1950s to the present and includes materials from the UK, North America, Europe, and beyond.

Why This Resource Matters

Bisexual+ people have always been part of LGBTQ+ history, but our stories are often marginalised or erased. This project aims to surface and celebrate those histories, making them more visible, accessible, and valued. Whether you’re a researcher, student, community member, or just casually browsing, this resource offers a rich starting point for exploring bi+ heritage.

What You’ll Find

The Archive Atlas is organised into thematic sections for easy browsing:

  • Magazines & Periodicals: Long-running publications like Bi Women Quarterly and Bi Community News.
  • Newsletters & Networks: Grassroots organising and community-building through bi+ newsletters.
  • Zines & DIY Publishing: Radical, creative, and personal expressions of bi+ identity.
  • Oral Histories & Interviews: First-person accounts from bi+ individuals across generations.
  • Health & HIV/AIDS Materials: Ephemera and campaigns focused on bi+ health and wellbeing.
  • Activist Archives & Visuals: Photographs, flyers, and documentation of bi+ activism.
  • Academic & Research Archives: Surveys, bibliographies, and scholarly resources.
  • General Digital Archives: Searchable repositories and directories with bi+ content.

Suggest a Resource

This is a living resource – and we want your help to grow it! If you know of a zine, archive, oral history, or other material that should be included, please submit a suggestion via our Google Form. We welcome contributions from researchers, archivists, and community members alike.
